It sounds to me like you were wearing headphones & we can't hear what you were playing to! Sounds a bit odd to me.

Odd would be a perceptive comment- I'm fine with that.

But did you mean the music or the recording was odd?

Like I said it sounded like you were playing along to something in headphones & I couldn't hear what you were playing to. I don't think it was recorded badly.

Oh- thanks for clarifying.

I wasn't playing with/to anything though.
It's a totally original arrangement.
Perhaps because I use a lot of fermatta's and retardano's as is often done in solo instrumental classical pieces, it sounds a little awkward if people are used to hearing rock/pop based music with a steady meter?

MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I accidentally left another track on there- That's the problem!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

running to fix it right now

Re: SH-55, Brutal! Heavy! Monstrous! (waltz- heh-heh)

Is there supposed to be some connection to the Iron Butterfly song? If so, i don't hear enough similarity to call it an arrangement of In-a-gadda-da-vida...actually I don't hear any similarity at all (waltz or no waltz). You don't need to be worried about any suits due to copyright infringement.

Sorry.

No complaints about the recording quality, just the title. I'm pretty open-minded and I was expecting an interesting arrangement to an old favorite.

Perhaps I have to write a disclaimer- *this is a highly stylized artistic arrangement and recognition of the original song may be somewhat obscured. (or something like that!) :)

Well, you are the 3rd to say that- so I should take notice.

But I will repeat- the melody of the famous riff is def. there right in the top notes of the chords (just after the intro that's played on the bridge pick-up).

The melody of the verse ("In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida baby...") is def. there just after that- I play quick chords interspersed by a single note line (which is the verse melody).

not sure if the copyright comment was just a funny comment, but I wouldn't have to worry anyhow 'cause I bought a "mechanical license" from The Harry Fox Agency.

Re: SH-55, Brutal! Heavy! Monstrous! (waltz- heh-heh)

why don't you add some drums or something rhythmic that can actually show the "waltz" beat?

I tried a lot of different combos of instruments (multi-guitar tracks-bass-drums...etc.) but decided I really enjoy solo guitar (with no overdubs) by far the best.

I also want to be able to perform as a solo musician, and with-out any pre-recorded additives.

I just love the simplicity of it.

def. thanks for listening and commenting- I consider all constructive critique

ps- I realize this is going to have a limited audience, but I do it mostly as a labor of love

if one other person is really appreciative- I might take that as a minor victory!!!

Re: SH-55, Brutal! Heavy! Monstrous! (waltz- heh-heh)

I can't speak for others, but I at least would be more likely to appreciate it if there was a rhythmic context.
