SH-8 Invader HELP!

ok so, i bought an invader today. i hooked it up right(think)....and it doesnt sound right....i mean i can hear it and i can play it, but it hums, and it just doesnt sound good! it has no "crunch" in it.....and when i hit the strings its a complete treble smash...or w/e you wanna call it....im just gonna say it sounds like **** and i need help on how to hook it up right.

i have: bridge pickup, volume knob.

i need to know how to hook that up please.

Solder together the white and red wires and tape them off. Solder the green and bare wires to the back of the pot and the black wire to the pot's lug. This will give you standard series humbucker wiring.

Yes. It'll be fully humbucking and throwing out its full output.

alright...its a les paul....a marshall half stack(mg 100 hdfx)....umm...pantera, metallica....old metal....my band plays heavy metal...so metal lol

Yeah, Jazz would work well, as would a 59 for a bit more thump from the neck.

alright...so i just got done rewiring it....and it sounds ****ing AMAZING!! i am not gonna lie that is the nicest pickup i've ever heard!! thanks guys for all your help!
