Funny how metal dudes think they're so "cutting edge" with C tuning thing, when Albert King was doing it 50 years ago.
If your case is:
Bright guitar + Middy pickup + Low tuning + Tight amp = HEAVEN :headbang:
Just my 2 cents

Maybe the folks here don't think so, but I've heard some goofy things from metal dudez who act like detuning is a modern innovation.
I love the CC's bass response and I've detuned mine to C# before and I really like it. Very throaty and tough.

in my opinion, 12-56 strings aren't good enough for B tuning. i would say try to get up to 14-60 or the likes, just to make sure. else than that it should sound perfect in your bright guitar.
Most of the time I don't like anything bigger than a .056" for a low B. A string bigger than that gets too "woofy" for my tastes. But overall there are too many variables between guitars to say what is right or wrong for a given tuning.
