SH4 JB with nickle covers!

Hello,
i am looking for pickups to replace my stock pickups of PRS Tremonti Se.
I was thinking about JB and Jazz combo. And i found the JB and Jazz with nickle covers.

I dont know very much about pickups and i never so Jb or Jazz with covers. What would You say about them. I am looking for fat distorted sound and good clean sound. I think Tremonti Se is a bit similar to Gibson SG and i am looking for hambuckers like that.

Any way what are the nickle covers for? Does it make the clean sound more bluesy or what?

The Nickel covers just change the look. It sort of acts like a shield in a way but, probally not enough to make any real difference and the tone will be very similar to uncovered pickups. If you want a fat distorted sound and great clean sound, I would skip the JB and go for a Custom Custom and a Jazz. The JB has never struck me as Fat what so ever.

BTW, they can be had with nickel and gold covers from the factory.
