Re: SH6n! How does it sound?
As it is a ceramic magnet, it's pretty raw sounding, with good amounts of presence and tremendous cut. Very good for aggressive solos that need balls to the wall shreddage and lots of girth. Clean tone was surprising, though not great. And also, the output was higher than other neck pickups Duncan makes like the '59 and Jazz but still manageable. I used it with a Duncan Distortion TB-6 in the bridge position so the outputs were obviously well matched, but I have some doubts about using it with a Custom, as the Custom tends to be moderate output at best and doesn't sound too agressive.
Why not a '59 neck or a '59 bridge to go in the neck with the Custom? I think it would sound more balanced, but if you want mayhem, the the SH-6N is for you.
