She's Finally Done!

I've had a few different guitar projects I've been working on, one of them was an older Korean Epi Les Paul Custom I traded an OLP MM1 & a KH202 to Daddy's Junky Music for.... It was a sweet axe when I got it but the hardware was faded, it had horrible feedback and it came with the Epiphone Sperzel wannabe's for tuners. But the neck was fantastic:cool:

Over the past year & a half I've owned it I swapped the tuners for a different style, the truss rod cover for a Les Paul Custom one, put a Tonepros on it, swapped the electronics, and popped a 57 Classic and a 1983 Gibson Dirty Fingers on it as well as changing some of the cosmetics a bit:thumb:

Here's a before & after my girlfriend did for me, I took the pic on the left when I first got it she just took the pic on the right today

Re: She's Finally Done!

Add a pair of the Gibson embossed pup covers to the Les Paul.

Re: She's Finally Done!

I always like the look of the BB Custom. I think this stems from the time I was jamming with a mate at uni (back in the 90's). He had an awesome mid 80's custom which sizzled, and a JCM800 half stack. All I had was a LP copy and a valvestate 80.

I'm also wondering what the tone is like. For mine I think the epi versions are just black standards (albeit with gold trim), as they lack the most important element - the ebony fretboard. Having just been delivered my first guitar with the ebony f/b I'm now a believer - the tonal differences to rosewood are extraordinary.

Re: She's Finally Done!

It seems to not get along with tube amps, it still has the uncontrollable squeal :(

However, it didn't feedback through the Custom Double Barrel which doesn't make sense.

Re: She's Finally Done!

Under further investigation we've discovered that the Dirty Fingers is a chinese microphonic pickup....

Re: She's Finally Done!

Glad ya figured out the problem! Congrats on a job well done! I too have always loved the looks of the LP custom. You say the neck is great? Keep us posted on what pup you put in to replace your Dirty flingers..
