Must have:
- 24 frets, (with unimpeded access to the 24th fret.)
- Neck through (I really like the feel and already have enough bolt ons)
- Floyd Rose or Ibanez Edge (Nothing better has come along. I like being able to pick up a guitar I haven't played in a month and still be in tune.)
- Traditional or Sharkfin inlays (I have a guitar with the small upper dots and I have never gotten used to it. I need visible inlays that aren't crazy looking. This disqualifies 85% of modern guitars.)
- Gloss finish ( I don't like satin or alternative finishes. I like a nice clear coat that can be buffed out and make guitar look new)
- New guitar- Not looking to inherit neck problems or cosmetic defects.
- Rosewood/Ebony or Maple board (Used to take this for granted, but some of the cheaper asian woods lack depth and give the guitar a cheap feel)
- Stainless frets (so nice not having to polish frets)
- Direct mount pickups (they just look better.)
- OFR (so I don't have to upgrade the tone block and deal with pot metal saddles.)
- Neck binding (I like neck binding. Its not a must have, but its a great finishing touch)
- Standard 5-way switching
- 25.5 (they probably don't make any guitars to these specs that arent)
- Satin neck (I would probably end up sanding a painted neck.)
