short legs for 59's

hey guys,

is there somewhere i can buy replacement base plates with short legs to put on a set of 59's? or should i just buy a set of 59 trembuckers and not worry about the spacing on the neck pickup of my Epiphone les paul custom?

the bridge is f-spaced, so the trembucker would make sense, but the neck is traditional spacing. I have already tried a set of regular 59's, but the legs are too long.

i was thinking about buying the blues set of 59's and replacing the base plates, and not worrying about the spacing of the bridge pickup being off a little.

what would you guys do?

thanks Kojak,it does help. one question though. How intrusive is the procedure for changing the base plates? i have done magnet swaps with no problem, so i am not too worried about taking the pickup apart. just curious.

Four screws and a bit of soldering. Might be good to get a roll of coil tape.

It comports to desolder the green wire/braid from the original baseplate and solder it in the new one at the same solder point.

The rest is just disassembling/reassembling.

Any carbon-based life-form with opposable thumbs can do it. There are tons of "how-to" put together a p'up videos on You Tube. Do a search.

Shop floor custom. Order a 59 model and specify short legs. Yes, it can be done. No need to go through all the baseplate swapping and voiding the warranty.
