Should I be worried about this pole?

See the pole on the left? It looks like it's not straight, with the result that it's not lined up with the hole and is so pushing the plastic up slightly on one side.

I've not soldered anything in yet (I'm not at that stage yet, for various reasons), so I can't actually test the pickup at all. Other than the fact that it doesn't look great, should I be worried about it?

And as an aside, does Seymour Duncan have a quality control issue? I'm already sending back my Vintage Blues humbucker set because one of the mounting bracket holes wasn't tapped. I reckon SD is 0 for 2 so far.

Typically I wouldn't worry. But given the record you have I'd send this one back too. You might as well get a clean slate of pickups that do what they are supposed to be doing.
