Sorry for the upside down and backwards photos, I'm not sure what happened? Anyway, I personally think that we should all have a "Ugly Stick" in our arsenal? I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about if you've seen my baby? Ugly Stick is just what I named mine, & yes I name them

! This term refers to all the great sounding & playing guitars out there that have been stickered, scraped, sprayed, banged, beaten, butchered, & had all manner of messed up s*** done to them but no matter what we can never let them go! My Ugly Stick was bought new in 97 & I've owned it ever since, I can't even start to count how many different things I've done to it over the years? Its just a MIM Strat but it's also the guitar I learned on & the guitar that started my modding career? I remember the first set of pups I put in it , some Texas Specials and its probably had over 100 guards built for it, or in it since! For some reason no matter how much abuse I've put it through or how many time I dropped it, kicked it, or straight up through it across the room it just keeps going! Of course I've had to do some basic maintenance to it, truss adjustments and such but everything else aside from the elections is the same as it was when I got it. Nowadays I keep one TB-1 & a vol. pot in it, which sounds flipping great BTW, but it still comes apart every few months if I'm making a new guard for another one of my Strats or I get some oddball idea that I want to try but don't want to sacrifice one of my nicer guitars? She's been wearing herself into a nice light relic & you just gotta have some slime green polka dots on it!!!! The dots are to cover up some holes I put in the paint by shooting it with my kids Airsoft sniper rifle, I got kinda bored??? Anyway, I find these kinds of guitars extremely interesting & their story's even more so, if you got one I'd love to see it & hear any of the interesting history behind it!!!
