Signal Chain Question

I know the compressor comes first from the guitar. I have a Route 66 which is a dual pedal, OD/Comp in one unit. It comes right after the guitar. I have an EH Soul Food for clean boost (even though it adds a little "hair"). I just got a DS-1. I planned on putting the DS-1 in between the Route 66 and the Soul Food. Does that sound right?

Re: Signal Chain Question

If the Soul Food is supposed to be a clean-ish boost, I’d put it in front of the DS-1.

Re: Signal Chain Question

The only rule is that there are no rules! Try both - see what you like.

Re: Signal Chain Question

What I ended up with that sounds best is guitar->DS-1->Route 66->Soul Food->amp. Oh well....

Re: Signal Chain Question

if thats what works best for ya, then thats the right way to set it up

Re: Signal Chain Question

i run my highest gain boost first on my little board. high gain od->clean boost->low gain od-> delay

Re: Signal Chain Question

I generally run lightest to heaviest, and then clean boost last for solo - if I'm using each independently.

Re: Signal Chain Question

i use them all independently but also stack them. if you use only one at a time, order should barely matter unless theres a weird buffer or input impedance on one of the pedals
