Single coil size HB into a SSS Carve top

So I just bought a Dimarzio fast track 2 to put in the bridge of my SSS Eclipse. The thing is, I don't think the pickup will fit in the routing because the pickup has a wider baseplate on the bottom of it. I just want to know what's the best way to get this pickup to fit into an EMG style route.

Is there a pickguard on the gtr, similar to a Strat?

BTW, I put one of those pups in an old Gibson Melody Maker...kicks a**!!

No pickguard. It's going into a carve top ESP eclipse.

OK. In that case you can't just rout carelessly and cover w/the pickguard. That would have been my suggestion.

I now realize that you did mention carve top. When have I ever seen a pg of the Strat variety on a carve top haha...

I wonder what ended up happening with this.

Have a similar guitar that I was looking to swap out pickups into.

It's basically an Eclipse (Les Paul type shape) rear routed for SSS right? Like a ESP Japan Sugizo model?

You can special order all the Dimarzio's single coils with no front flange. This will allow them to fit in a EMG-style route. I ordered a ProTrack that way (with chrome blades too) a while back. I ended up selling it though because I sold the guitar before I had a chance to install it (I'm fickle like that :D). Anyway, I don't remember the pickup costing anymore than a regular Protrack. A Dimarzio shop floor custom if you will.
