Single coil sized Humbucker for Strat Bridge

Ok, so I don't get along too well with the bridge single coil in my Stow-Away guitar. Any suggestions for a SC sized humbucker? Replacing the pickguard to fit a Hum is not an option. I think the guitar is made of Alder.

I play it through a myriad of devices/amps, however my main is a Rectifier Pre -> ADA Ampulator -> Rocktron MultiValve -> DI into the PA. The main tone that I'm looking for is Petrucci's Train of Thought tone, although only somewhere in the ballpark is fine. Mainly it's the palm mute that the SC fails to deliver.

My main axe is an Ibanez Universe, completely stock.

Everyone's gonna say Hot Rails.

I won't though, I don't know :laugh2:

Nah, not everyone is going to say HR. :)

I'd suggest either a Lil 59 or a Tone Zone S.

I had very good luck with a JBjr., which was automatically split when used with the middle. I could save the in betweenposition i love so much. What is you fingerboard - the JBjr. was great with rosewood.

I would say tone zone s for Petrucci tones. I wasn't a huge fan of the JB jr. Not very balanced when clean, but pretty nice for chunks. I still liked the hot rails better.

I would suggest a Tone Zone S also. The Hot Rails may be hotter than desirable with that setup.
