Single Coil To Humbucker

lagwagon

Hello,
I have a squier standard strat with the originial single coil pickups. I dont really like the sound that they put out so i'm going to purchase an "invader" humbucker in the bridge position (got one on my other strat and sounds awesome). My question is what do i need to make the humbucker fit into the bridge position where the old single coil was. I already know i have to buy a pickguard with a humbucker cutout... thanks in advance

Re: Single Coil To Humbucker

Pull the pickguard off, that will answer your question as the guitar may already be routed for a neck humbucker. MY MIM 97 start body is and most of the MIM/MIA strat bodies I see on eBay are HSS routed.

Re: Single Coil To Humbucker

My squier was a swimming pool design, which is a large cavity where you can pretty much do what ever you want. Just give it a look.

btw lagwagon f'ing rocks. You can get some of there tones with the JB or Custom since you already have an invader.
