Hey guys,.. I'm looking for some suggestions for a good "Single Coil" replacement for the middle and neck positions of my Charvel Model 6,..
Just for the record, the routings for these pickups is not the modern trapezoid shape but rather the old school elongated "oval",.. so I'm limited on what shape pickup would fit there.
Also, I'm looking for something more "traditional" sounding as far as single coils go as I'll be using these pickups for a lot of clean and bluesy type stuff.
On all most all of my other H/S/S type guitars (W/OFR) I'll run a Humbucker of Choice and then usually a couple of Texas Specials in the mid/neck positoins... this has done pretty well for me for the most part,.. but obviously the TXSP's won't work in this Charvel .... well, without routing any way
I did see this Vid of what appears to be the STK-S4n,.. and even though the vid. audio was horrendous,.. I could read through that to hear the sort of sound/tone I'm looking for,..
The Charvel's Wood make up is Poplar Wings, Neck through Maple w/ Rosewood FB. .... Probably middle of the road in terms of Bright to dark ratio (?) ..
Hope this wasn't too much info,.. but I've found the more info that is presented,.. the better and more qualified info is received
Thanks in advance,
Rick
