Second post, here we go:
So, I'm putting together a new custom build, and is looking for two singles to go with a Distortion in the bridge. Ah, but there is a catch, I play seven-strings almost exclusively, and that narrows it down quite a lot.
I have virtually no experience with the Duncan Singles that are available for sevens, I don't know what would work, or in what position to have what. I have mainly been a humbuckin' man until now. I have also looked at two Rio Grande "Muy Grande" singles, input anyone? The Blaze single is IMO terrible...
Background on the geetar:
Built by Ran Guitars of Poland (great guys to work with, my main ax is a Ran, and I love it to bits). It's in their explorer shape, by the name of Thor. Mahogany body, with a mahogany bolt-on neck and a rosewood fretboard. Fixed hipshot bridge and, of course, seven strings
I mess around with most kinds of music, I play almost anything. What really defines me though is blackened death metal (hence the Jon Nödtveit-avatar) and progressive metal/rock, so high gain capabilities is a must-have. I like to switch to the neck pickup in and during solos, so a good definition would be appreciated as well.
The rig I'm working towards is a Krank rev+ halfstack.
/Cheers
