I have a single humbacker Junior. It tends to be a little bright. I wasn't crazy about the JB in this one. Seemed to lack low end. I have a 59b in there now. I like it better but would prefer something a little hotter. Kind of ZZ Topish. I'm leaning twards a C-5, but I'm all ears. Got suggestions?

I'm a bit confused. Did you have a JB Jr. then swiched to a lil 59 or do you have a full sized humbucker? What guitar is this in? If you are talking about a full sized humbucker, you could first try a 250K pot with the JB. That will reduce the brightness a bit. Maybe something like a demon is what you're looking for.

Custom 5 or a custom. The JB with a 250 might do it also.

Steve: Thanks for taking time out from your busy schedule. Good question, seems like a slam dunk. I have a guitar with PG's and another with a Custom in the bridge. Interestingly, the Custom gets me closer to what I think is a ZZ sound. When I think of the sound I want it's more Rythemeen than Tres Hombres.
