Sitting Here Watching My Anthrax DVD

Yeah, get that tone with your freaking Fender Twin Reverb, and a Marshall style distortion pedal. Give me a freaking break!! You, have got to at least have a half stack to get that tone. I'm just sayin......and I am the type of person that gets that tone at home. Quit trying to get that tone without having a awesome I amp just cranking it! It's not going to happen. I just thought I'd let you know.

Re: Sitting Here Watching My Anthrax DVD

exactly. Twin Reverb w/ pedal is a total bust here( sorry Securb..where is my ***** anyway?). I would go as far to say that you need a fullstack, or two, for Anthrax. Fullstack with 90's Marshall distortion pedal would sound like Anthrax :headbang:.

Re: Sitting Here Watching My Anthrax DVD

If it pans out, I'll be seeing them with Volbeat next month.

And Jolly, I hope you did this for me.

Re: Sitting Here Watching My Anthrax DVD

I understood this one the first time I played a 6505 half stack, cranked.
As it goes with engines, "No replacement for displacement". Same rule applies here.

I'm amazed that John Petrucci plays with 1x12 cabs now, though. Sounds a bit thinner but very crunchy.

Assuming that you actually want that sort of tone in the first place of course.......

Once upon a time I was splitting the difference on that setup.

I had a '65-'66 Fender Dual Showman head into a Peavey 412MS. Still have the cab. Sadly don't have that head anymore.

Do you have kids Jolly? I can only picture them rebelling in their teen years by listening to some light jazz at very low volumes in your home . . .

Man, that's a good point... I have a 5-year-old... I drive fast, have a dubious sense of humor, and I like it loud... Well, he might rebel against mommy by being like daddy... LOL

Heh, when he was little my 9 year old loved High on Fire and Coliseum. Now he only wants to listen to rap and hip hop.

He is not amused by metal or hardcore, or me, anymore.

As for the OT, yep.
