Tried one of the newer Mexicans in the store (Jaguar, my preference is a Jazzmaster though.) Gorgeous guitars, appear to be a much better value than importing an MIJ. Better pickups stock, comfortable contouring, nicer chrome and finish for sure.
One thing I noticed: the bridge has the same outward appearance as a standard Jazzmaster bridge, but it's solid/non-rocking.
Without getting into what bridge is better for a given scenario on these guitars (everyone has an opinion,) by what means is the bridge secured on the Mexican guitars? Is the bridge itself same as a standard/American Jaguar, but with narrower ferrules? Or is the entire assembly different? Can the standard bridge/cups be dropped in?
Wasn't able to try out the trem on the guitar (no arm) so unsure of the effect the fixed mounting has on tuning. If I bought the guitar, I'd want to make sure I had the option to at least try a standard bridge on it.
