Slash Alnico Pro II - tone difference in chambered Les Paul

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on this great forum. I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded that I'm looking to replace the pickup in. I would like to get the Slash Alnico Pro II's. Are these pickups suitable for a chambered guitar or do they work better in a traditional weighted Les Paul?

Welcome to the forum! They will do just fine in either body style. They aren't particularly 'voiced' for a specific kind of guitar that I'm aware of.

I put these amazing pickups in my tokai les Paul LS1000. No idea if it is a chambered body but I don't think so.

The sound is incredible, sweet, powerful, nice sustain... Takes you to that 'Slash-y tone'.
I can play for hours, they are pure inspiration to me.

This pickups will sound great in your guitar. I'm sure.

I recommend them!

Hi there...they work better in a traditionally weighted LP or one that is slightly chambered. The modern chambers are bigger and the pup looses some of its meat and picks up too much treble.

I think it would sound smooth with a lot of clarity, but not a whole lot of gain. Overall pretty balanced, but the chambering I think would make the sound have a slight sem-hollow quality. Not that the sound would be bad, in fact I'd probably prefer the chambered sound, but it could just sound different.
