Slash Pickups Too Bright?

I periodically read people complaining about Slash pickups being too bright, and I was watching this video and figured I’d post a screenshot…

Hard to tell if people are being serious or sarcastic sometimes. That's just a box to stand on with lights firing upwards. I seem to recall that his tech does all the switching backstage.
