small speaker recommendation

if you'd build a mini cab - something you connect your head with, just
for home practice and little jamming.
what would be a good choice for the small pocket ...

- eminence alpha-8
- jensen c8r

or more expensive ...

- jensen p8r
- jensen p10r
- eminence beta-10
- eminence lil'buddy
- eminence ramrod

i'm not really stuck on 8 or 10 inches, but the cab is gonna be rather
small. thanks in advance for help. i don't know that little ones and like
to have some nice tone.

never anyone used something smaller than a 12"

normally i'd just take a 4 jensen p8r, but their expensive and not
efficient. is an em alpha 8 any good for guitar?

eny posetive or negative feedbacks regarding lil'buddy or ramrod.

I have the Jensen C8R in my tweed Champ ... sounds good (the P8R wouldn't fit).
Weber also makes a few small signature speakers that aren't too expensive.
I'm not familiar with the em alpha.

I don't really know why efficiency would matter in a small speaker. ???

i like the p10q type speaker, the larger voice coil gives a nicer tone to my ear, still not very efficient but the c10q is better in that respect and cheaper

hmm, you'd prefer the jensen ceramics. interesting. the're quite cheap over here. they're worth a try i think

Surprisingly, the stock 8" Celestion out of the Kustom Tube 12 sounds pretty studly when driven by a Champ.

you may want to check out www.tubesandmore.com 's speaker selection. they have a bunch, with descriptions. if you have the $, I'd get one of the more expensive ones (but not as expensive as that blue one in the old vox's that are like $200+) since you'll only have one in there.

also, check this guy's awesome looking empty cabs (they start a few pages into his store, after the parts)!!!
