SMB-4A inductance?

I'm modelling some preamp designs for use with the SMB-4A and need to know the inductance of the pickup coils. I have a cheap LCR meter that reads 2H per coil. Is this close?

Re: SMB-4A inductance?

Unfortunately dincz, Seymour Duncan doesn't publish inductance specs on most of its pickups.

Re: SMB-4A inductance?

I think I have one floating around that isn't wire up to pots. If I remember I can measure later.

Re: SMB-4A inductance?

So. I previously measured a SMB-4A at 7.70 kOhm, 3.55 H, 33 uF.

I just measured and it came out at 7.70 kOhm, 4.11 H, 34 uF. I think that is the same physical pickup, but now measured inside a bass, with no pots connected. Temperature is probably the same, if it is the same pickup, since resistance is the same.

A SMB-4D measured at 4.99 kOhm (I checked, coils are in series), 3.75 H, 53.7 uF.

I don't know offhand what frequency my inductance meter uses and/or whether it is considered a high quality unit. It gives results that are consistent with itself. It is this one:

Says it measures at 20 kHz? WTF? Or does it mean it can measure frequency up to 20 kHz. I'll check in later.

Re: SMB-4A inductance?

Good news, thanks for that! Mine measures 7.6kohm and 4H (series). Allowing for temperature differences that's a fairly close match.

Thanks again :)
