So how much are Mesa 2x12 Rectifier cabinets going for right now?

I found 2 on craigslist listed for $300 each- one has vintage 30's, the other one is empty. Is this a good buy? I'm thinking about replacing my 4x12 with one, since mine is not super high quality. It's horizontal, not vertical.

I've had one for years. Solid cab. 300 beans is a good deal. Unless abused speakers and cabs tend to last 25+ years no problem.

The $300 for the V30 cab is a good deal if it is in reasonable shape. And there are some tricks to repairing torn black tolex that can make it look nearly perfect,..abiding by the three-foot rule.

300 is a good deal for those cabs. if its in good condition. I just bought one off ebay. could not find them used in the area. sweetwater is not allowed to discount mesa stuff so they could not work a deal on one. I saw one on CL for 400 with EV speakers but I let it go. Got a like new cab with one v30 and one g1275 with the extra v30, slip cover and still under warranty for 500 on ebay. Very nice cab. nicer than anything ive had before

Hmm. I'll have to shoot the guy an email. A friend offered me first dibs on her bass, so that might take up some funds first. I'll update if I decide to buy one of the cabs.

I look at them all the time here in Chicago and $300 is a really good deal. I usually see the horizontal for about $400-$600 used. I'm looking for a 2X12 vertical cab and they're hard to find and generally command a higher used price.

Really? I was waiting for one to pop up in Chicago, any cab really, but I couldn't find a good one and ended up buying a new one.

I see the horizontal all the time. There's one right now on Craigslist for $300. The vertical are very hard to find.

Errr I should say I saw one recently. It's not there now. (I can't edit my posts for some reason) There is a Mark V for $1575 with now footswitch!

I would hop on that right quick. I purchased an 80's vertical Mesa cab (the half back model with a C90 in the open top portion and a EVM-12L in the ported bottom portion) for $350 and it is some of the best money I've ever spent on gear. Mesa makes wonderful cabs, and even if you don't like the way the speakers sound in your rig the construction is fantastic, so you could just put in some new speakers that are more to your taste.
