So I Got a Floyd Equipped Guitar... Now What?

Re: So I Got a Floyd Equipped Guitar... Now What?

Clarification: only if you have a Tremol-no installed and have it either locked or set to dive only. If you have a Tremol-no set to fully floating and break a string it's no different than NOT having a Tremol-no installed.

Ahh, yes, sorry.

Not necessarily Floyd specific . . . but when I want to hear a vibrato used correctly I always end up listening to Jeff Beck.

The notion that there's a correct way to use a vibrato isn't very rock n' roll.

Dont think a Tuna will work on that trem. IIRC its not an actual floyd, even tho the op said floyd.

It might work. I've had D-Tunas on and off of several guitars over the years, and while all were Floyd-licensed, only one was an OFR. The others were on things like a Peavey Wolfgang and a Music Yo! Kramer.

As opposed to a Strat type trem. I always hear about cool stuff you can only do with a dual locking trem. I guess most of those things apply to full floating examples.

An ascending squeal is a really fun thing to do on a dive only trem. Hit the harmonic with the trem dived, and then let it up slowly.

Another example of full floating use is Steve Vai. Check out almost any of his videos. Bad Horsy is bad @ss!
