SO I got my Avatar cab today...

And for some reason...the speaker cable won't fit into the top jack on the back of the cab.. and when I plug it into the bottom I get a "blanket over the speakers" kind of effect.. think its a problem with the cab, the settings, or maybe the batteries in my EMG's? The fact that I can't get the speaker cable to click into the top jack makes me wonder..

the bottom jack is meant for going out, like daisy chaining cabs

they're wired in parallel, use any one that works.

+1, electrically they should be exactly the same, so it shouldn't be any sonically different to plug into one rather than the other.

what speakers do you have in it BTW?

I got the same cab. sounds freakin awesome.

what color scheme did you get? I got red with black grille.

Black/silver grill/closed back. Looks nice and classy.

Zippy, before you strum another chord, test the resistance of the cab/cord combo with a multimeter to get some idea of what your amp is dealing with.

how exactly do I do that? I have a multimeter right here but I don't know where to test..

plug your cable in.

set your multimeter to resistance, lowest ohm reading

touch the leads on the 2 conductors on the other end of your cable.

you should read a little lower than 8 ohms.

With the cable plugged into the cab, the other end is reading 7.4 Ohms.

that sounds about right. it may be your amp.
