So, I'm ordering this (GFS Surfacemount Pickup) :)

For my Epiphone Wildkat.

At only 5/8" inch tall, 1,7cm's- (if I understood things right), it's so "not-tall", (short?) that I can mount it onto the top of my Epiphone Wildkat, between the P90's.

I want it just in front of the brigde pickup, with a series/parallell/split switch- for wiring it together with the bridge pickup, or just bridge pickup alone). Two things suck a tiny bit though:

-I need to make a hole for the pickups wire (that comes out on the bottom), aswell as mounting it properly. 2. it's chrome, not gold like the stock PU's. I'll figure out something.

I've tried wiring two singles (strat pickups) in series once, and it sounded monstrous. I also want to be able to run parallell, for brighter tones.

Been talking about this for months now, time to "get serious" and do the ordering .

Hi Erlend,

I've done something similar once with a semi-hollow but the pickup was a mid sixties Rowe/DeArmond Silver Foil Diamond PU (between two chrome covered P.A.F. clones).

The hole for the cable shouldn't be too difficult to do.

Regarding the chrome hardware and as you ask for tips, hints, suggestions: why don't you order a surface mount gold foil copy?
