anyway... that's the new Ibanez ARZ series, pretty much their version of the ESP Eclipse

A couple things... My first electric had a body somewhat similar (also Ibanez) and was ridiculously neck heavy. Very light guitar, so it really had no way to balance itself. The other thing was that I had an RGA121 with that same stop tail on it and HATED it. The strings always popped out of the grooves as I was trying to tune up. Ridiculously frustrating. Then again I'm definitely no string changing guru, but thought I'd share

Having said that, I definitely need to get my hands on one of these things in a store... Not really a fan of EMGs, but I like everything else about it

The next model up has 61 and 80s plus a quilt top (ARZ800). There's also the ARZ700 which looks like the one above but also has active EMGs, though it seems to only be available in Europe...

Not to try and tell you about your own guitars, but doesn't the RGA121 have a hardtail bridge, not a tune-o-matic?

I like that they have 24 frets and a 25" scale as opposed to the "real" short scale. That much for originality, what I really want is a Les Paul Custom. LOL

I got a ARZ800, In red, lovely sound with the EMGs, both clean and of course distorted.

I've played a few of those at Guitar Center and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. The feel and play-ability is great and that neck joint is just superb. I'm sure electronics, etc. would have to be replaced and of course they cut corners in other areas to get that price to where it is, even with an import. Still, the ones I've played seemed like a fantastic bang for the buck. I can swear that last year some time GC had them at around $300 or $350 and I really should have bought one at that price.

^^^ i don't think i would change *any* of the electronics till something breaks first. After one year, the pots, switch work fine. Still has stock battery. But i would change the machine heads tho.

I think (unfortunately) they are now discontinued. In europe there is only ARZ700, in USA i think even lower a model (ARZ400).
