I'll show you what I've been up to.
Messing with the soundclick.
All I've got up right now is something that makes me think that I'm plagiarizing Marc, but in a backwards way. But hey, it's all free music, so it's hard to care that much.

Link.

Re: so what the heck.

edit: could really do with less lead guitar, a lot of the runs dont quite "fit" maybe down it in some atmosphere? dug it though

that's something i was thinking a lot about. in the end, i got lazy.
i'll probably retrack the lead part in a few days.

thanks man. constructive criticism never hurts.

Re: so what the heck.

The tones and feel remind me of CSN. All you need is a three part harmony going over it.

Cool stuff.

Re: so what the heck.

I liked the tone on the lead guitar a lot! the vocals where great and it had a great lo-fi vibe in general. Work on tracking the drums but it wasn't anything that detracted too far because it was a lofi song

I like!

Re: so what the heck.

btw, I'm very much so getting more into the "drink it up" line. Its got almost a 60's pinup girl background choir feel, if that makes sense. Think like 20 pinup girls on a beach for an airplane service ad doing like an ad chant....in a good way

haha. If you like the tone, you'll never believe the cheapness of the setup. It's a stock Yamaha Pacifica on the neck pickup with tone and volume rolled back slightly, played with fingers --> Fender Champion with a removed negative feedback resistor on 6 with a towel over the speaker, mic placed off to the left of the amp. Everything was recorded on a guitar hero mic I bought for 15 bucks at a Gamestop two years ago.
Authentic lo-fi is authentic.
I'll definitely work more with a metronome on drums, because I think it would do me good to really be able to fully control musical dynamics and keep a steady tempo in other songs I'm working on. But thanks man!

haha. That's awesome!
That kind of vibe is cooler than anything I would've thought of for this song. :14:

Dude, those stock single coils in the Pacifica are actually pretty sweet. I've had mine for six years and I've never really felt the need to change them.

Cool wee tune, man. :beerchug:
