I'm pretty new with compu-recording, but I have been messing around with Garageband. I had a buddy with an M-Audio FastTrack Pro USB not Firewire sadly.
I don't have the ability to record my main rig (Bassman), so I've been using the included amps provided within Garageband. While they don't sound too bad, I've been noticing however a bit of lag for lack of a better word.
As I play a note it sounds a milli-second after I've struck it. Not horrible mind you, just annoying enough to have me ask the question.
Are there some setups I'm not thinking about?
I've looked through the basic setup options listed for the M-Audio box.
Oh, I have a 1 year old MacBook Pro with the beefier video card, and 4gb of ram.
Is this just the nature of the digital recording beast? Or is there a setting somewhere I've overlooked to improve this?
Thanks in advance,
Louis
