hi
i was hoping someone could help me.
is there a way to program a patch on an alesis midiverb 4 where it's just like your "main" patch but just louder for solos?

A bit off topic. How do you like that? I was thinking about picking up one.

it's a nice unit...especially for the price. it's a little "non-user friendly" (which is why i'm asking the above question), but i'd recommend it highly

There's got to be tons of ways to boost the output for one patch. You could hike up the EQ bands, or increase the levels of the various FX in the chain. But there's got to be some sort of a master volume for each patch, or if there's a compressor in there, you can boost the output level, etc. I don't have one, but I've had lots of other MultiFX boxes including Alesis, and there's going to be plenty of things you can do like that.

there's a master output level...but that remains the same for all the patches you have...if it's at 10...then all your patches are at 10...if it's at 3, then all your patches are at 3...

i need to have one patch at 3 and the other patch at 6...so far i can't do that

Well after looking at the manual, it does seem like you're lacking a lot of what I would consider normal level management within the unit. But still, it would seem that you could do something in the effects parameters, like adjust the direct level up and down, or the reverb level up and down, etc. If you can add Chorus, and put the Chorus level up all the way, but back down the delay and modulation, you'd have a doubling effect that would compound the volume for solos. You can do the same with Reverb and Delay, by setting the delay time short or to zero. I see what you mean, though. It might be time for a stereo volume pedal after it, or something like that.

I'm sure it sounds great and for $200 it's a bargain, but my old Quadraverbs can do 10 times what that can do and they're selling used for less. They have internal mixers at all the stages of the signal path. That's why I assumed this MV4 would have to have something in the software to be able to adjust the direct level, or master level, etc.

thanks for checking... i may have to look into a quadraverb then...or a g-major
