Some riffage with the V (EMG 81 and Randall)

Re: Some riffage with the V (EMG 81 and Randall)

Wow the sound is very thick!I love how Randall allways pushes!I can imagine to use a V2 someday. There are many great Ideas on that clip Bro!The small melody line from low to high is impressive! The Whole stuff screams that's you're a rythm player.Power ,punch and stability in your tone.Okay it#s sometimes sloppy ,but you ca't imagine how sloppy professionals play sometimes too.So no problem there.
Make it a real song ,and let us play over it.We will enjoy it!
Cheers Bro!And Happy easter!

Re: Some riffage with the V (EMG 81 and Randall)

the riffs are tighter but less agressive and organic! The feeling you had in the first clip was waaaay better.Sometimes ,being a little loose gives more character IMHO.And you have that on trhe first clip. The second one is lifeless. It's sounding "generated" and not "played"!Try the same clip with more "soul".
And a good Rythm guitarsit is allmost more worth than a lead guitarist. Many guitarists are Rythm disabled (default). That's why they bash drummers and have problems with music like Meshuggah or Opeth ,or many other "odd" stuff.
So become a great Rythm player ,and you will be a real sought after player.think of Scott Ian ,Dave Mustaine ,Malcolm Young etc.

Re: Some riffage with the V (EMG 81 and Randall)

I lowered the bass a bit and cranked the contour knob to the right (more mids),

Re: Some riffage with the V (EMG 81 and Randall)

i love the attack of your amp.And your picking is well powered too.
I would like to hear your ruffage double tracked with drums and bass tracks!

Re: Some riffage with the V (EMG 81 and Randall)

impromptu 2 is SICK :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Now if you make it a complete song, name it "Improm Tutu" :D

Re: Some riffage with the V (EMG 81 and Randall)

it sounds better on lower riffage. But worse on higher riffage!but everything changes once you double tracked and add a bass!So the sound itself allways need to be somehow high sounding to leave place for a bass!
