some strat wiring/pickup questions

Looking for Real Life
ok, stratdeluxer convinced me to keep my strat, and since i don't like the jb, and am sort of gassing for a tele thanks to the john 5 album, i decided to make a telestrat.

I'm gonna get a custom pickguard spaced for a tele bridge pup (it'll fit, it's pool routed, and spaced for a humbucker, at that), which I'll prolly use a fender texas pickup for, because i love the sound of them

for the middle i want a rw/rp texas strat pickup. Are they already reverse polarity, or do i have to do something, if so, what? I wanna be able to use this pickup in combination with the others, mixed with the tele for a twangbanger sound, or mixed with the neck, which is just gonna be a stock strat pickup, to get a slightly hotter sound, if needed

now, i don't like the idea of having no tone control for the bridge pickup, so I wanna have a master volume, a master tone, and the other one just there for looks, disconnected from the circuit. Can i use the stock strat pots for this, or do i have to get different ones?

and one more thing, how much does it usually cost to put in a new nut? mine's doing this weird thing with the high E string that i can't explain

Re: some strat wiring/pickup questions

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/301617/ this would be an example of the kind of texas pup I'm talking about, i tried out a nashville tele & LOVED them, but wasn't fond of the neck pickup, but i like stock strat necks, so, anyways

the pot question was this - strats have a master volume, no tone knob for the bridge pup, and individual tone knobs for the middle and bridge. My question is this, can one of these tone knobs be used as a master tone? Or maybe a tone for the bridge & neck, so the middle can have its own, or yeah, a blend pot.

I'm ordering a custom pickguard thats spaced for the tele bridge pup, i wouldn't mind routing a bit out to get it in there, because i really really love the tone of fender texas special tele pickups, and a little more routing won't hurt the tone that much, plus it's MIM. If I'm correct, tele bridge pups are just a LITTLE more angled than a single coil strat bridge pup, correct?

and i REALLY wanna stay with this pickup configuration, so can someone tell me if the fender texas special middle strat pup is reverse polarity? if not, can i make it that way?
