Sometimes its not the pickup

It has been said before, but tone issues aren't always from the pickup.

Long story short I thought I needed a new neck pickup with a lighter bottom end. It turns out that I just needed to go back to using 10s instead of 11s.

Now my Custom 8 and little 59er sound like a matched set and I remember why it was I liked that neck pickup.

Man, it feels good to love my tone.

YAY! its good to love yr tone!

classic example: i had the jb in an ibanez w no bottom thru a new rig. i thought the bass was flubby, and ive often read this. but after trying a third guitar thru my rig, i realized that bass chunk was possible, so i traded the ibby twds a cheap Charvette w moderate ( instead of no) mass for bass- this became my hair metal treasure.
