Song My Band Did

If you would give them a listen for me. We recorded directly into my computer. The drums we did with one microphone placed above the set. The quality is pretty good nonetheless, but the track seems to be kinda quiet. Anyways, the first transition is rough as the drummer got off beat and I had trouble matching my guitar track to it. Anyways, constructive criticism is welcome. :fing2:

Re: Song My Band Did

a little to heavy for my liking, especialy the intro, good noneteless.
it sounds like your all doing what you enjoy, and thats all that realy matters.
just listened to it again and i think its just the low quality that makes it to heavy, i actualy realy like the instruments, but perhaps the singing needs to be mixed down slightly!
good work
i look forward to hearing more

Re: Song My Band Did

Too much compression, not enough range to the dynamics. Snare is muddy. I like how nasal the guitar is at times. Vocals are done very well, both performance and mastering. Bass drum is nice but a bit lost in the mix. Has a nice natural sound to it, but it sounds enclosed overall (eq).

Re: Song My Band Did

hmm, i didnt care too mutch for the singing but ill agree on all the other points, well all exept the muddy snare!!! how is a snare muddy? (pardon my ignorence!)
perhaps we need more opinions...........................especialy on the singing..

A snare or tom will be muddy when it lacks high harmonics and has too much lower midrange. A snare can sound crisp, it can also sound muddy.

Re: Song My Band Did

Yeah the drums might be a little muddy as we only used one mic suspended over the top of them. It's not studio quality, but it's not too bad either. Thanks for the comments that's what I'm looking for.
