Hi, i have a stagg x300 guitar, it has an average sound, not bad, but i want a bit more crunch to the sound, just wonderin if anyone could suggest a good humbucker for the job?

Thanx

im not sure what that guitar is. what woods/style of guitar is it? for a good hot crunchy bucker i like an sh6.

Re: sorry need more help on choosing a pickup...

I just installed my sh6 and it has a nice chunky, beefy sound. Still sounds great for leads. If your into metal, that's the pup for you.

X300, welcome to the board and hopefully you'll find a pickup to suit your tastes for more crunch. What kind of music are you playing now punk, emo, rock? Are your pickups stock right now? For a good general crunch you can't beat a JB but for more aggressive crunch you can't go wrong with a Duncan Distortion, as Spannyspan recommended.

The more info the give the more specific we can steer you in the right direction.

Welcome!

Of course as said above it depends on the woods etc of your setup, but the JB wont dissapoint :D

Adding on to this topic, what would be a good pup to go along with the SH6? I have mine installed in the neck pos. I'd like a much less beefier sound. Would I go wrong with a JB?

Re: sorry need more help on choosing a pickup...

I have played factory pickups that sound better than the JB. I would recomend any Duncan except the JB.
