I LOVE my MC-402 OD/Boost box !

And like everyone has said, the lil green GT-OD is a cool box.

Re: Sorting Out The MXR Dirt Boxes....

I have a MXR Bad Ass 78' Distortion. It really sounds like a vintage pedal. It responds to your picking technique, your amp, your pickups, your volume, etc. They can clean up really nice, but it ain't still an OD.
I also need to say it's a very bright/trebley amp. Better watch your treble for your overall final sound.

Would like to try the MXR Modified OD...

Re: Sorting Out The MXR Dirt Boxes....

Lol, those GC Classic OD pedals are going for wayyyy higher now. They were going for as low as 30 bucks when they came out, I'm not sure but I think they're going for around 99.99 now. I dig the Classic OD, the switch inside is funny. On the old green ones the switch switches to the ZW from the stock GT-OD, and the new white ones are ZW stock then when switched they go into GT-OD mode. I think...

I use the Blue Box as my stand alone fuzz. I got a used one for $30. It's a weird sounding pedal, but after a true bypass mod and upgrading a cap to give it more upper mids and clarity, it can serve as a basic fuzz. I just dial in and out that crazy sub octave with my toe. I usually use it without.
