Anyone have any experience sound proofing a room? I know it's quite pricey, but can someone tell me what i should use to sound proof a room thats about 10' X 15' and on a second story?

a completely sound proof room would come from inside the walls, and putting foam on your walls won't do much. My friend had a sound proof jam room and he told me they had to put all this stuff in the walls????

You'd need to put insulation in your interior walls. Exterior walls have it, interior don't. Then buy some really thick rubberfoam for your door. That won't completely sound proof it, but it will make a huge difference. They have some kind of foam now, don't know what it's called, they drill out a hole in your wall and fill it up and it hardens into some wierd styrofoam.

Actually, I just realized your on the second floor. I really don't know what you could do there... unless you want to stand on insulation. What kind of floor do you have in your room? You may want to consider some heavy carpet. I have really thick shag carpet in my room, it makes a huge difference when you record.
