I finished installin a neck distortion pup and I'm gettin a really muddy sound. I tried adjusting the height of the pick up to find the "sweet spot" but nothing. The bridge pup that came with the guitar has a lighter tone to it compared to the new pick up. Is there a problem or am I not used to listening to a good pick up?

the sh6n is a very thick, high output pup. what type of guitar are we talking about? what is the stock bridge pup? chances are youll need to change the eq settings on your amp

I have an Ibanez Iceman 400 and the standard pup that came with it is an AH 2 or sumthin. See, the thing is, I installed the neck pick up on the same knob or pot as the previous pick up, But when I did that, the pick ups reveresed there role. So my neck pick up was working off my bridge tone and volume and vice versa. So I switched up the wiring of the neck and birdge pups. I asked a dude at a music store if he had had the same problem and he mentioned something about polarity.
