Source for long shaft 500K blend pot?

I'm trying to wire a dual HB guitar with V-T/Blend, rather than a three way switch. Problem is I need long-shaft pots, and I'm having a heck of a time finding long shaft 500K blender pots; anyone got a source they could share?

Thanks,

Larry

I think I might be the only person that has those. I had to order a special run from CTS, because they didn't exist. They weren't cheap either, it was like $20-$25 a part if I recall. I'd have to find the box, though. It got packed somewhere when we moved.

Word of caution, using a blend will interact with your pickup volumes, if you have them. It's not a problem if you keep your volumes on 10, but if you are mixing levels, then trying to use a blend pot, you can get a weird volume drop or warble as you turn the blend and the resistances add up. It'd be better to have a blend and a master volume, or just the blend and no volumes on the guitar.

Well, that's disheartening. If you come across them in the next couple days and want to part with a couple, please let me know. AFA the volumes, it will be a 1 volume, 1 tone setup, so I'm hoping it will work; I've done it before and been pleased, just didn't need long shaft pots on that one.

Hi Larry,

I actually found the two boxes with long shaft blend and long shaft dual-concentric pots. They are 500k +/-10% wafers. Blend has a center detent. The resistor ramp on the blend is one half only for each side, then it's open for that side (it's not a continuous blend across the entire rotation - center is both fully open/fully on.). Looking at the P.O., they cost me $40 each. Can you do that?

Appreciate your finding those, but not quite clear on the description; I was looking for (as an example): Fully clockwise/Bridge, Fully counterclockwise/Neck, Middle/Both. Is that what these do?

Thanks,

Larry

Yes. Basically, it's like having a 500k linear volume on each half that is full up at the center detent.
