Bought a scad of these based on how nicely they beefed up the Peavey Triple XXX's tone. Tried two in the Marshall Studio 15 and it turned into the brightest and most peircing amp I've ever heard (not good). It took the subdued Mojotone G12H30 I had just put in there and made it too bright even with the treble knob on zero. Removed the new tubes and put the old ones back and voila, it sounds like a sweet old marshall. The Studio 15 should have been released with a G12H30 instead of a vintage 30 in it. Majorly better tone with the G12H30. It went from rude and snarly to sweet and balanced. Brisk even approved of the tonal change and he's a stickler fo sho.
Brisk put the LPS tubes I took out of my Studio 15 and put them in his Rivera Chubster and it woke that dark amp right up. Gave it a much needed boost in the treble and mids along with about double the gain of the JJ's that were in there. He readjusted his EQ settings and gain settings and seemed to be quite pleased with the results. I used to not be impressed with that Rivera at all, but now I am. I liked it so much I gave the tubes to Brisk so he could keep them in there. The tone was so good, I didn't want Brisk to take those tubes out.
