I'm thinking of building a 2x12 speaker cabinet for my Gibson GA5 for band practices and just an overall differnet tone. The amp is 4 ohms, so I'm guessing that I need two 8 ohm speakers? Also, I was going to get 2 Alnico speakers with a very British vibe (Celestion Alnico Gold/Blue, Weber Blue Dog, Fane AXA12). Can I say pair up an Alnico Blue (15 watts) with the Fane AXA12 (100 watts) or will I mess it up? The amp is only 10 watts when maxed and the existing speaker in it is rated at 15 watts. So what are the rules of matching speakers and wattage? And finally, where should I get the cab? I was thinking of Weber but I would like some alternate choices. Thanks a lot.
