Speaker Configuration affecting TONE

How is the tone of 2 speakers wired in series as opposed to parallel? Such as 2-8ohm speakers wired in parallel for 4ohms vs series when they are 16. Will the series (16ohm) config tone be more textured and detailed and the parallel (4ohm) config tone be smoother and cleaner or vice versa? Please opine :smokin:

Aside from any differences that result from using a different tap on the output transformer, parallel is smoother and series is brighter.
