I have the chance to grab one pretty cheap thats in good shape it just needs a speaker. I generally like greenbacks or the gh30 or what ever its called. But I know they will not be able to handle the amp.
I was looking at the lynchback and creamback but am not sure. Where would be a good place to start? I am not new to these amps having owned a 5150 combo and a 6534+ head. I know they can be bright and buzzy with the wrong speaker.

Eminence Legend is a damn good speaker-maybe not the best- for not a lot of money relatively speaking , and has Emis superb warranty.. If you like to scoop mids, it'll give you some sag but does tend to get a bit congested in the upper mids , but diminishes the swarming bee buzz . Probably not the best speaker for uber tight grind.I have the 6505 though.
What about just grabbing some Sheffields?

the greenback is the g12m. The g12h is the one with the much bigger magnet.
They both sound pretty different. Which one is it that you generally prefer?
Celestion make a creamback version of both of these speakers both of which have just enough wattage to cover your amp.
Also, in a 1x12 combo its worth checking out the g12k100 (formerly the g12H100). Its chunky low end is very good in open cabs and can handle the wattage easily. It also has a nice smooth top end and sounds pretty massive with high gain. The eminence version is known as "the tonker".
