Speed/Accuracy building exercises (for metal)

Does anyone know some good exercises I can practice with a metronome to make my scale runs, sweeps, tapping etc more accurate and quicker?

And before anyone lectures me on kids these days only thinking about speed and not of substance, I taught myself to play guitar by playing blues, and Dave Gilmour, Joe Bonamassa, Robin Trower and John McLaughlin are some of my favourite guitarists so there!

I've got the substance part covered. Now it's time to get my speed and accuracy up to where it should be!

Speed Mechanics for lead guitar is a great book for building speed and accuracy. And it's not just for metal either.
It's only like $15 too.

cool, I used to have the Thrash Guitar method book, taught me quite a bit!

Right on, I'll see if I can find it.

Any other things to look out for?

Re: Speed/Accuracy building exercises (for metal)

I picked up the Speed Mechanics book a couple weeks ago because of a thread PUH revived a while back on it.

Really good stuff in there. Nothing makes me feel so uncoordinated as trying to do things the right way.

I gotta git some of these. Flying fingers was fun, but not sure if it ever went to CD from the tape and book package.
