Based on some of the pretty positive comments about Duncan Designed pups in this thread I decided to grab myself an HB102 set, which is the Duncan Designed version of the JB and Jazz combo, to try in a guitar that is lacking a bit of oomph in the bridge pup.
Whilst I'm going to be hacking around in the guitar I was wondering if it is worth trying to get some coil splitting options going on by way of push/pull pots or a StewMac Freeway switch ( and by the look of the eBay piccies, mebe hacking the pups themselves to add extra hookups as they look to be 2 conductor rather than 4).
Does anyone here have experience of splitting these pups (come on, I'm sure loads of you do) and if so, what are your opinions about how well they work as single coilies? The JB at least is quite high output so should still sound ok when cut in half I presume...
Cheers guys.
