I did it! There's not much info out there on splitting this pickup, but I have a new tele that I made to fit the sM3N and a four way switch, so I added an option of neck split.
Can't recall where, but I found one post about it sounding rather like a Charlie Christian pickup. Not fat off the mark at all. It has a nice smooth bass, diminished mids and a clear high end, but smoooooooth.
I'm a fan. The output drops considerably, of course, so I put a clean boost in the mix and use it when I go to that option.
A terrific option if you're into smooth clean neck tones. Turn the tone back and it's instant jazzbox. Makes for one versatile little tele.
