Hi guys,
I dont have much experience with finishing & I was looking for some pointers on what materials I ought to be looking into.
I bought a cheap squier acoustic with a broken headstock to practice finishing on, i've fixed the break & am left with this:
I've tried black cyanoacrylate (stew mac) http://www.stewmac.com/item/0020-B
but levelling it with the surrounding original finish has been less than successfull (maybe i'm not leaving it enough time to dry/harden?)
I have to assume the guitar is poly or whatever modern stuff is used - witht his in mind, this is the main thing I need to learn:
what materials can I spray/brush on poly safely & leave the best results?
i.e - would I be best buying a black nitrocellulose aerosol & spraying that on?
would waterbase be better? would something else be better?
this is the main question for me, I know nothing about what material (nitro/etc) is best in these situations.
Would really appreciate any advice.
Cheers.
