Re: Spotting A FAKE Les Paul

the list is very long so i'll just give you the quickest method that works on 9 out of 10 fakes and is easy to spot in pictures...

if the truss rod cover has 3 screws it's a fake.

Re: Spotting A FAKE Les Paul

hard to say.... sometimes it is as easy as un-common Binding around the neck and body... other times it's the hardware..

Re: Spotting A FAKE Les Paul

There are a bunch of different things to look out for.

Use the search function, it's been gone over many times previously.

Re: Spotting A FAKE Les Paul

i would think the first step would be to learn all the Gibson models and history of models, finnishes and different hardwares, all that info would be a good start at being able to spot a fake easier...

Re: Spotting A FAKE Les Paul

I am going to keep a look out for fakes.......

I might be able to buy a superior guitar for alot of less cash if I can find a fake.
ROTFLMFAO!

Re: Spotting A FAKE Les Paul

this one is simple............go to the gibson web site,or call the 800 number and speak to a rep.give the serial number and wallllaaaaaaaaa. of course the fake could have a legit gibson serial number ,so now im confused again.lol, honestly i havnt had to worry about that because when i have to plunk down 2 grand on a guitar you can bet your ass its coming from guitar center or some other dealer
