So I have an Epiphone Les Paul with and JB bridge and a 59 neck. The pickups squeal when my amp is cranked. I had these pickups previously in a strat and they never squealed. What should I do?

SAme pickups, different guitars. The difference is the mounting: Strat pickgurard vs. LP mounting rings. I wonder if the tension on the springs is different with the new mounting, which is now causing the pickup to vibrate in their new home. Maybe try longer screws and springs?

Depends really on what type of squeal it is. You can hear mechanical squealing... should be easy enough to isolate by putting your finger on the pickup and seeing if it stops.

I did just notice that the pickups are kind of wiggly. You can mo ve them back and forth with your finger

Thats normal... they are suspended from springs... but if its the vibration of the springs causing the squeal you should be able to during a squeal touch the bobbin and have it stop. If it doesnt the squeal is coming from somewhere else.
